This was the first grad session that I have ever done and I must say, I had a lot of fun! Jenna and her mom were great company (and little brother was such a great sport hanging out patiently while we roamed around the grounds of her school and lost track of time) Jenna is graduating from King's-Edgehill this year and will be attending Acadia in the Fall to study Kinesiology. This gal does it all, I couldn't even keep track! She plays multiple instruments, plays soccer, is on the track team and the ski team and I am sure I am missing something! In addition to all of that, she is beautiful and gets good grades!! What a catch! ;)
Good luck Jenna! I wish you all the best in your future endeavours!
It's hard to believe that it's already Apple Blossom weekend here in the Annapolis Valley! I'm sure I wasn't the only one concerned that the blossoms wouldn't be out in time for the festival after that long winter we had! But within the last couple of days I see them popping up all over the place - just in time!! Phew!
The blossoms are so beautiful and because they don't stick around long I thought it would be a great idea to squeeze in a couple of last minute AB Mini Sessions to kick off the weekend. These will be taking place tomorrow evening at one of my favourite apple orchards here in the valley. So stay tuned for those.
Cherry blossoms are in full bloom right now as well and are equally as beautiful. Here is a photo I took the other day from our very own cherry tree.
In the meantime, I'd like to share with you all another newborn session that I did recently.
Reese came to see me at 9 days old and she was sweet as pie! She wasn't overly interested in sleeping most of the time she was here but she was so content the entire time! Isn't she a doll?!
Peace, Love & Happiness ;)
I know I say this all the time but Newborns are my absolute favourite clients! I have two children of my own - 5.5 years old and our youngest is almost 4. I do miss that cuddly newborn stage with my own children but when a newborn comes through my door I temporarily get to fill that little infant void. I get so excited that I get to spend the next 2-4 hours with them. snuggling them, positioning them with care, burping and cleaning up their little messes ;)
Braylen was a perfect little client <3 Here are some of the images we captured from her session.
Much love <3
I first met Breah's Mommy and Daddy last year when Breah's was still in her Mommy's tummy for their Maternity session and immediately fell in love with them as clients! I was thrilled to meet Breah at her newborn session then again at her 6 month sitting session and now again at her 1st Year Cake Smash session. I get so much joy out of watching these little ones grow into their own little personalities over their first year and my how much they change!
In case you aren't already aware - I do offer a variety of bundle packages to capture these precious milestones in your child's first year of life. Please visit the "Investment" tab at the top of this page for more details and feel free to send me an e-mail to email@example.com with any questions you may have regarding any of my sessions.
Now check out this little cutie :)

Back in April I was honoured to help the SPCA Kings County Branch raise money by inviting you guys to bring in your fur babies to Pet Valu in New Minas for some photos. All proceeds from the day went directly to their animal shelter. There was such a great turn out! My assistant, Kendra and I were right in our glory wrangling pups all day long :)
A huge thank-you goes out to my assistant, the lovely staff at Pet Valu New Minas for hosting this event and to all of you who brought in your fur babies to help support our local shelter.
Sorry this post is so late hitting the blog! Are you surprised though, really? Lol.
Below is a slideshow of the photos from our day.
Much love <3
Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope everyone is having a great week so far.
April is quickly coming to a close and I am starting to mentally prepare myself for my outdoor sessions to begin this weekend. My fingers are crossed that we will be blessed with some beauty weather for it.
April was a busy month over here and it just keeps on getting busier from here on out. I absolutely cannot believe that my wedding season begins in a little over a month! Eeeek!!! :)
Speaking of weddings, I had a couple of fall weddings that have been postponed for this year so if you're still looking for your photographer for your special day or know someone else who is, drop me a line because I may have some room for you :) Also, I have already been booking weddings for 2016 so don't hesitate to contact me for next year's weddings either.
Here is a peek at some of the things I have been up to since my last post...
Jason & Sara
Hannah & Hunter
Stay tuned for some fur babies on my next blog post ;)
Goooooooooooood morning everyone!
It's a great morning in my opinion! Why? Because when I walked outside this morning to take my daughter to school and my son to daycare for the day, I didn't freeze my buns off the moment I stepped outside my door. Instead I walked out to mild temperatures and the sound of birds chirping - Ahhhh how lovely :) As long as I closed my eyes, mother nature actually had me convinced that perhaps Spring IS actually here. Now if only our 10 foot snowbanks would participate in the Spring action.
Before I begin setting up the studio for a brand new little boy to come snuggle with me tomorrow - I mean to come get his pictures taken, I thought I would share with you an adorable cake smash session.
Little Miss Aleigha wasn't entirely keen on having her photos taken at first, until we brought on the cake! Thanks Cakes by Korri - you saved the day once again!
Happy very first birthday, Aleigha! <3
Until next time!
Well we are half way through March break and I must admit, it's been wonderful having our daughter home during the day with us again. It's going to be hard sending her back to school Monday morning. Her little brother sure is going to miss her too! Last night they begged me to let them sleep together in my daughter's bed (which we have tried before without much success) Since there is no school I decided to give it a whirl again. After all was quiet I went in to check on them and they looked so adorable with Chase's little hand on his sister so that he would know if she tried to sneak out ;) I am so glad I snapped a photo!
As I begin to really start ramping up in April onward, you may or may not be aware that not only is it my birthday month, but also is Pet Appreciation Month which is equally as cool ;) This year I am honoured to be able to work along side the SPCA Kings Branch on April 18th from 11am-4pm at Pet Valu in New Minas to capture some fun Spring photos of your furry friends! In addition, I will be accepting food and monetary donations on behalf of the SPCA for the entire month as well. Here are the details:
Please spread the word and come on out to support your local SPCA!
Before I sign off, here are a few peeks at some sessions I have wrapped up since my last post.
And this Maternity session that I will be finishing up today :)
Eeeek! Bring on the babies please! :) :)
Until next time! <3
How is everyone doing?! Are ya sick of all this snow and winter yet?! I know I have had enough of it - bring on Spring please!!
I made the decision to schedule very little outdoor sessions this winter which I do not regret because with all of this snow we have been blessed with I can't help but think that I would have wound up with a rescheduling frenzy which is no fun for anyone.
Before I begin with updating you on some of my past unblogged sessions from this year I will bring you up to speed on my availability. I always stress that booking early is a must and here's why… I have availability for 1 more session in March, April is looking pretty full (I may be able to squeeze in 1 more through the week), I have 1 weekend date left in May, June is full, and Septmeber is full, and December will be reserved for Newborns only! So please, if you have been thinking about booking with me don't hesitate to contact me. As always, life happens and sometimes people need to cancel so if you are looking for a date that you think I may be full for I can put you on my cancellation list.
Now onto the fun stuff!! :)
First up is Jax! I first met Jax as an itty bitty newborn and was so happy to be able to see how much he has grown when he came back for his 1st year photos. As always, the cake was supplied by the very talented Cakes by Korri and these are included in every single Cake Smash session that is booked with me :)
Then there was Eva. How sweet is she!? <3
Then came our "Love is Sweet" Valentine Mini Sessions which were vintage candy shop theme.. Along with a couple little cupids <3
"Love is Sweet" Valetine Mini Sessions
I also did a newborn session that I am unable to share with all of you yet, I hope to be able to soon because she's a beaut!! So stay tuned :)
Until next time!
Good morning everyone!
Well I haven't done a great job at keeping up with my blog posts so far this year but I think this is a great one to start the routine back up with!
I recently posted on my Facebook page that I would soon be announcing a little photography project that I would be working on throughout the year and I am so excited to share the details with you now!!! :)
This project is called "This is Me" and will be a photographic series of men, women & teens ages 13+, make-up free. Photoshop free. Displaying each individuals raw, untouched beauty. I truly believe that every single person is a beautiful creation and it saddens me to see on the daily this message being destroyed within our society starting at such an early age in both sexes, and only continues as we get older. In order for this to change, WE must change it.
I will be looking for individuals with a wide range of age, size, culture and ethnicity to participate in this project in order for it to be the success that I hope it will be. The project will be done on a volunteer basis and all photos will be done here in my home studio located in Avonport, Nova Scotia. So please feel free to spread the word any way you can - it would be greatly appreciated!
At the end of the year I will be creating a (hopefully) gigantic collage displaying everyones raw beauty images to display as well as a slideshow to be shared via social media.
If you would like to participate in this project please email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Together lets change society's idea of what true beauty really is, one face at a time!
Here's to celebrating being perfectly imperfect!!
" Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical." - Sophia Loren
I am a proud Mommy of two beautiful children, loving wife to the most amazing life partner a gal could ask for and I am in love with photography.
