This little family holds a special place in my heart. Shane, Kendra and little Wesley are great friends of ours and I have had the pleasure of photographing Wesley on a number of occasions now, with many more to come I'm sure!
Shane's Mom and her spouse travelled all the way from Cincinnati, OH recently to visit and wanted to make sure they got some family photos done during their time here. It was a pleasure meeting you guys and so happy I was able to capture some memories for you :)

Do any of you remember what seems like forever ago when I had my 500 "Likes" mini session giveaway on Facebook?! The winner was randomly chosen through a Facebook giveaway app and we finally had the chance to meet up the end of last month and it was well worth the wait! Stephanie just had a brand new baby boy named Easton that she wanted to use her mini session credit towards. I don't offer mini sessions for newborns so we made some tweaks and I was able to steal him and snuggle him for a few hours :)
I say it all the time but newborn sessions are one of my favourite types of sessions to do but it was even more exciting to be able to do this session in my new studio located in our home!! Unfortunately for Stephanie it wasn't 100% complete and there was still stuff everywhere, but we did it, lol! We still have a few things left to do before I would officially call it complete however that will all come soon enough. I will try to post some photos for you guys as soon as possible :) A little side note that I am extremely excited about.. my hubby will soon be commencing my latest real wooden backdrop set for the studio! I already have a dark walnut barn board one that I use all the time with a cream reversible side so I can't wait to add a new reversible white/raw wood one to compliment it :)
Sorry I am rambling.. back to Easton ;) He was such a great little dude and so gosh darn adorable too! See for yourself....

I would like to start off with a quick reminder that I am no longer taking on new bookings for the remainder of 2014 (with the exception of my Christmas mini sessions which have not been officially announced yet). In fact, my schedule for the remainder of the year is a tad bit nuts so I appreciate all of your patience while I get through everyone's post processing as quickly as I can without jeopardizing quality. That being said, I am completely humbled by the interest in my work and the number of people wanting to schedule their sessions with me, I truly wish that I could take you all on and get to know each and everyone of you, however unfortunately I haven't yet figured out how to clone myself ;) Also, for 2015 I will be carefully planning out my schedule and strictly abiding by it to avoid over booking (which I am notorious for) so be sure to always think ahead and book early to avoid disappointment if I am unable to fit you in.
Okay enough of that boring stuff! On with the Millett family :)
I was contacted by Jenny one day and she completely tugged at my heartstrings when she asked if I was able to squeeze her family in for a family session as soon as possible because they had just got the dreaded news that her grandfather is terminally ill. I obviously didn't have to think twice about this one - we were making this happen come hell or high water! So they chose their location (Halls Harbour) and away we went. It was a beautiful day, although the sun was a bit too bright for my liking while shooting a session and it was difficult not to have it shining right in their eyes, but we made it work.
Emotions were understandably high that day, but you can tell that this family is so incredibly strong and they did amazing. Thank you Millett family for giving me the honour to photograph these precious memories for you <3

I am trying to catch up on some blogging today so here is post #2 of the day
Katie contacted earlier in the year and what seems like forever ago to book her Maternity session, Newborn session, her daughter's Mini Birthday session as well as a Family session! When we met up in Coldbrook last month it felt like we had already met because we had been in contact so much up until that point. Katie travelled and will be travelling a long way in order to have me do her photos and for that I am humbled.
Katie's husband works away so just her daughter Emma joined her for her Maternity session and what a cutie she was! She wasn't the least bit interested in having her photo taken but we did manage to capture her in a few :)
Here is a peek from our evening together..
Thanks Katie for travelling all this way and I look forward to see you again next week for Emma's Birthday session :)

This beautiful, fun loving couple travelled from Halifax to do their Maternity session with me on my very own stomping grounds here in Avonport. I absolutely love it when my clients are willing to have their sessions here. It's such a beautiful spot! We had to reschedule this session a couple of times due to rain, but thankfully we were finally able to fit it in before little Isabel made her appearance into this world.
You two will make for awesome parents and I am so happy for you! Welcome to parent hood :)
